New coalition announces Cabinet composition
A minister each from UML, RSP and JSP to be sworn in today
KATHMANDU: Following the dissolution of the ruling alliance led by Nepali Congress, the newly formed coalition comprising CPN (Maoist Center), CPN-UML, Rastriya Swatantra Party, Janata Samajbadi Party, and Janamat Party is poised to establish a fresh Cabinet.
In a secretariat meeting convened at UML Chair KP Sharma Oli's residence in Balkot, Oli briefed party leaders on the imminent formation of a new Cabinet.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will lead the Cabinet, which will feature a minister representing each of the key coalition partners: UML, RSP, and JSP.
UML has already designated Padam Giri, the chief whip of the parliamentary party, as its ministerial appointee.
Meanwhile, sources suggest that RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane is likely to assume a ministerial role, while the decision from JSP is pending.
Anticipation is high for the swift formation of the new Cabinet, with leaders of UML indicating that the process is expected to conclude by this evening.
The newly appointed ministers are slated to be sworn in today, marking a significant milestone in Nepal's evolving political landscape.
