Update: 26 supporters of Durga Prasai arrested from Tinkune
KATHMANDU, Nov 24: The Police have been arresting the supporters of Durga Prasai from Tinkune, who are on a protest campaign. An officer of the District Police Range Kathmandu informed Ratopati that 26 people have been arrested from Tinkune, Kathmandu, which was declared as a demonstration site by Durga Prasai.
Saurav Bhandari, Pashupati Kathayat, Shyam Timilsina, Tej Narayan Kandel, Angnima Sherpa, Binita Thapa, Devendra Thapa, Mina Shahi Thakuri, Kshitij Timilsina, Nar Bahadur Silwal, Navaraj Adhikari, Tej Narayan Kandel, Kaushal Acharya, Mukunda Prasad Bhandari, Sujan Khadka, Gagan Thapa, Ganesh Parajuli, Umesh Ale Magar, Asha Bahadur Ghimire, Hari Thapa, Raju Bharati, Prem Prasad Ghimire, Yam Kumar Mainali, Hari Prasad Dahal, Dil Bahadur Ghising, Dhan Shilpakar, Mina Shrestha, Birendra Sen and Sabitra Chhetri are the arrested.
The local administration has not permitted Durga Prasai and his supporters to demonstrate in the Tinkune area.
The District Administration Office Bhaktapur has stopped Prasai in his home in Bhaktapur under surveillance. Chief District Officer of Bhaktapur Roshani Shrestha informed Ratopati that Prasai has been stopped at his home, and will be allowed to go to Kathmandu only after coordination with the District Administration and confirming the program venue.
