27 protestors protesting in front of parliament building arrested
KATHMANDU, Oct 29: The Human Rights and Peace Society protested in front of the Parliament building in New Baneshwar on Sunday demanding making the Amendment Bill related to the transitional justice process under consideration in the Parliament human rights friendly.
In the demonstration in front of the Parliament building Gate No. 3, the protestors carried placards with slogans such as 'Nepal Government: Stop glorifying violence, cancel the decision to grant a holiday on Falgun 1 as "People's War Day".
According to the society, 27 protestors have been arrested. Among those arrested are the founding Chairman Krishna Pahadi, Chairman Ramkrishna Baral, Advisor Uttam Pudasaini, Secretaries Ramprasad Joshi and Chandramani Banjara, Treasurer Kiran Dhakal, Central members Namrata Kharel and Diwakar Pudasaini, Kathmandu Branch Chairman Bhagwan Pudasaini, Chitwan Branch Chairman Shambhu Raut and others. They are in the custody of the Baneshwar Police Circle in Tinkune.
