Gradual improvement in DPM Narayan Kaji's health

China, Oct 20: Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha's health is gradually improving after he suffered a heart attack during his visit to China. Shrestha has been shifted from the ICU to the general ward after his health showed improvement.

Nepalese Ambassador to China, Bishnu Pukar Shrestha, told Ratopati, "Minister's health has improved. But the doctor has said nothing about how long he should stay in the hospital."

Shrestha, who had come to participate in the third Belt and Road Initiative conference in the capital Beijing, suffered a heart attack on Wednesday night and was admitted to the International Medical Sciences Hospital.

According to a press release issued by the hospital, Shrestha's surgery has been successful. The schedule for his return will be decided according to the doctor's advice, the embassy informed. The government team, that is accompanying Minister Shrestha, will return to Nepal on Friday.
