RPP calls meeting to decide on Koshi Government

KATHMANDU, Oct 11: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) has called an office bearers meeting to decide on the issue of the power crisis in the Koshi Province.

The meeting has been called for 8 am on Friday at the party’s central office in Dhumbarahi, informed spokesperson Mohan Shrestha. According to Shrestha, discussions will be held by considering all the options for the formation of the government in Koshi.

As per Clause 3 of Article 168 of the Constitution, Hikmat Kumar Karki had become the Chief Minister for the second time according to the Supreme Court’s order of mandamus, but he resigned on Saturday after it was understood that he would not get the vote majority.

The Provincial Chief has called to the parties to claim for the Chief Minister according to Clause 5 of Article 168. The ruling coalition has requested assistance from the RPP for the government formation, and to decide on that, the RPP has called the meeting.
