8-year-old boy found dead in hostel in Surkhet

SURKHET, Sep 30: An 8-year-old boy was found dead in the hostel of Usha Balbatika Secondary School in Surkhet. The hostel is located near Ghantaghar in Birendranagar Municipality-6, Surkhet.

The Surkhet District Police informed that the 8-year-old child, Salam Pulami Magar, was from Chamundra Bindrasaini Municipality-1, Dailekh. He was a second-grader studying at Usha Balbatika school.

The boy of the child was found hanging on Friday evening in the hostel. The body of the child is yet to be recovered upon the request of the relatives. The Province Police Office spokesperson, Gopalachanedra Bhattarai, said that the incident was suspicious and will be investigated.

Police have been deployed in that area. The situation in that area became tense after the enraged relatives staged a protest.

The enraged crowd has vandalised the place demanding the incident to be investigated. The police also fired tear gas to calm the crowd. The police have taken the board of directors into their custody.
