Ratopati journalist Dhami attacked

KATHMANDU, Sep 25: A Ratopati journalist Krishna Singh Dhami was attacked in broad daylight by a group of people near the Central office of Ratopati in Bakhundol. A group of 5-6 people attacked Dhami at around 4:30 on Monday.

Due to the group attack, Dhami has injuries in the head and many places. Dhami is undergoing treatment at Sumeru Hospital in Pulchowk.

On September 12, the All Nepal National Independent Students’ Union (Revolutionary) close to Biplav warned to punish Ratopati and the correspondent of Ratopati. 

Prakash Chand (C), chairman of the ANNISU Revolutionary, had issued a press release warning of taking physical action regarding the news of subjective approval of colleges that did not meet the standards of Tribhuwan University.

Dhami had been saying that he was constantly being threatened regarding the matter of the news. After receiving threats through the press release as well as social media, the Federation of Nepalese Journalists (FNJ) also issued a press release stating that their attention was drawn to this.

Eyewitnesses have said that the attackers first greeted Dhami while returning to the office, suddenly attacked, and then ran away. They fled after the attack on motorcycles.

After the incident, a team led by Inspector Pramod Karki of the Police Division Pulchowk reached the spot and started an investigation. The police said that after receiving the necessary information, the search for the culprits has been intensified.
