Hearing on contempt of court against Prachanda concludes
Verdict to come in December
KATHMANDU, Sep 24: The hearing in the contempt of court case filed against Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' in the Supreme Court has concluded.
The case was heard in the bench of Supreme Court Justices Ishwar Prasad Khatiwada and Kumar Regmi on Sunday. According to court sources, the verdict on the case is scheduled to be announced on December 4.
The contempt of court case against Prachanda was heard after seven years. Prachanda had given a public statement that the court had ruled the matter related to the peace process as a criminal offence and that he would not obey the verdict of the court.
Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi filed a contempt of court case on 25 May 2016 against Prachanda for expressing disobedience to the order and judgment of the court.
