Prime Minister Prachanda holds meeting with President Xi Jinping

KATHMANDU, Sep 23: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, who is on an official visit to the People's Republic of China, has held an official meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Hangzhou, China.

A formal meeting was held between the delegation led by Prime Minister Prachanda and the team led by Chinese President Xi before the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou of the Zhejiang province.

Prachanda arrived in China from the United States after he attended the 78th General Assembly of the United Nations in New York. He is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the 19th Asian Games later today.

Earlier, Prime Minister Prachanda, along with the special guests who arrived in Hangzhou to participate in the opening ceremony of the Asian Games, were welcomed with a banquet by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

The Prime Minister's China visit will last one week. He will return to Nepal on September 30 after visiting Hangzhou, Beijing, Chongqing, Tibet and Chengdu.
