116 billion remittances received in Shrawan month
KATHMANDU, Sep 17: Nepal Rastra Bank has released the financial report for the first month of the current fiscal year.
According to the financial report released on Sunday, remittances worth Rs 116 billion have been received in the month of Shrawan.
The remittance inflow has increased by 25.8 percent compared to last year. It had increased by only 20.3 percent around the end of Shrawan last year.
Remittance inflows in US dollars have reached 879.8 million after increasing by 21.5 percent. The inflow had increased by 12.5 percent last year.
During the review period, the number of Nepalese who took the final work permit (institutional and individual-new) for foreign employment decreased by 12.1 percent and has remained at 39,152, informed the Central Bank.
Similarly, the number of Nepalese who re-took labour permits for foreign employment decreased by 19.5 percent and remained at 16,423. This number had increased by 75.4 percent in the same period of the previous year.
The net transfer increased by 26.1 percent and reached Rs. 128.21 billion during the review period. The net transfer increased by only 18.4 percent in the previous year.
