Gold smuggling case: CIB submits investigation report to District Attorney

KATHMANDU, Sep 13: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Police has submitted the investigation report in the case of 60 kg 716 grams of smuggled gold.

The District Government Attorney's Office Chief, Achyutmani Neupane, told Ratopati that the Bureau has submitted the investigation report to the Office.

The CIB has suggested to make only 26 people, out of the 32 people in custody, as defendants. Other 18 people, including Amala Roka, have been marked as absconding defendants.

AIG Kiran Bajracharya told Ratopati that the Ready Trade Pvt Ltd has smuggled 302 kg of gold, in addition to the 60 kg, to Kathmandu. In the report, CIB has suggested that the company should pay Rs 3.5 billion as compensation.
