Price of tomatoes drops to Rs 45 per kg

KATHMANDU, Sep 9: The price of tomatoes has dropped to Rs 45 per kg in Nepal, Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee informed.

The wholesale price of Indian tomatoes is fixed at Rs 45 per kg. Similarly, the price of small tunnel tomatoes is set at Rs 49 per kg and the price of small local tomatoes at Rs 45 per kg.

Similarly, the wholesale price of potatoes is Rs 51 per kg and red potatoes is Rs 57 per kg. The price of onions has also started to go down.

The wholesale price of Indian onions was previously at Rs 73 per kg, which has dropped to Rs 71 per kg. The wholesale price of cabbage is fixed at Rs 76 per kg, carrot at Rs 86 per kg and cauliflower at Rs 95 per kg.

According to the Committee, the price of red radish is fixed at Rs 106 per kg, white radish at Rs 115 per kg, while the wholesale price of brinjal is at Rs 65 per kg. Similarly, the price of green beans is fixed at Rs 96, bitter gourd at Rs 86 and pointed gourd at Rs 55 per kg.
