President Paudel visits Krishna Mandir in Patan

KATHMANDU, Sep 6: President Ramchandra Paudel has paid a visit to the Krishna Mandir in Patan on the occasion of Krishnashtami.

During the visit, President Paudel worshipped Lord Krishna inside the temple and received the offerings.

On the occasion of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, devotees flock to Krishna Mandir from early in the morning to worship Lord Krishna.

The Krishna Janmashtami festival is celebrated in the Ashtami of every Bhadra by Hindus. It is believed that Lord Krishna was born on the Ashtami of Bhadra during the Dwapar era.

As it has been believed, King Siddhi Narsingh found a temple of Krishna buried under the land, which was reserved to build a temple of Shiva after Lord Krishna told him to build a temple in his dream. After that, the two temples were established in that land, Krishna Mandir at the bottom and Shiva Mandir on top.
