Nepal gives 231-run target to India

KATHMANDU, Sep 4: Nepal has presented a 231-run target to India in its second match in the Asia Cup 2023 underway in Sri Lanka today.

Nepal scored 230 runs before becoming all out in 48.2 overs. 

Batting first after losing the toss, Nepal started pretty well by scoring 65 runs for the first wicket before Kushal Burtel was out in the second last ball of the 10th over.

Kushal Bhurtel scored 38 runs, Aasif Sheikh scored 58, and Sompal Kami scored 48, while Gulshan Jha made 23 runs and Dipendra Singh Airee contributed 29 runs for Nepal. Other players could not score runs in double-digits.

For India, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohammed Siraj took 3 wickets each, while Shardul Thakur, Hardik Pandya and Mohammed Shami took 1 wicket each.

This is the first international match between neighbours Nepal and India.
