UML obstructs Karnali PA meeting demanding to correct Aviation's decision

SURKHET, Aug 15: The primary opposition party CPN UML has obstructed the Provincial Assembly meeting of the Karnali province.

The opposition party obstructed the meeting claiming that the provincial government did not pay attention to the suffering and the current livelihood of the people of Karnali caused by the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority.

UML Chief Whip Tekraj Pachhai stated that the provincial government needs to pressure the federal government to change the decision of the Civil Aviation Authority.

UML said that the Authority's decision caused the death of 6-month-old Imran Sunar, 7-month-old Rohit Shahi, 18-month-old Aaren Pariyar and 5-month-old Sandesh Luhar as they died while waiting for the flight at Humla's Simikot Airport.

Pachhai claimed that the citizens were suffering because of the airport schedule i.e. 'operation hours' fixed by the Aviation Authority.

Speaker Nanda Gurung adjourned the Parliament meeting until 3 pm on the 17th of August due to the obstruction.
