17-member team announced for Asia Cup under Rohit Paudel’s Captainship

KATHMANDU, Aug 14: The Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) has announced the national team that will be playing in the Asia Cup Cricket Tournament. CAN has announced a 17-member team under the captainship of Rohit Paudel.

The members of the announced team are Ashif Sheikh (wicketkeeper), Kushal Bhurtel, Lalit Rajbanshi, Bhim Sarki, Kushal Malla, Dipendra Singh Airi, Sandeep Lamichhane, Karan KC, Gulsan Jha, Aarif Sheikh, Sompal Kami, Pratis GC, Kishor Mahato, Sandeep Jora, Arjun Saud and Shyam Dhakal.

The 16th edition of the Asia Cup will be held in Pakistan and Sri Lanka from August 30 to September 17. 6 teams including Nepal are participating in the Asia Cup.

Nepal, India and Pakistan are in Group 'A’, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan have fallen into Group ‘B’. The opening match of the tournament will be held on the 30th of August in Multan, and in the match, Nepal will be playing against Pakistan.

This is the first time Nepal is playing in the Asia Cup.
