Gold smuggling case: Rakesh Adukiya's son released from detention

After returning to Nepal from Dehli on Friday, Adukiya was arrested by the Tribhuwan Airport Immigration Office after his passport was found on the blacklist.

During the investigation of the 1 quintal gold smuggling case, Rohan Adukiya's passport was put on the blacklist upon the request of the Department of Revenue Investigation.

The Revenue Department and the Immigration Office tried to hand over Adukiya to the Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) but were rejected by the Bureau as he was not on the wanted list.

An officer of the Airport Immigration Office told Ratopati that Adukiya was released from detention at 11 am on Sunday on the condition to be present when called upon.

Two Chinese citizens who were arrested in the smuggling case have also been released by the Central Investigation Bureau. They were released as it was revealed that they were not involved in the gold smuggling case.
