Public transport fare decreases as petroleum prices drop

KATHMANDU, July 17: The public transport fares in Nepal have decreased according to the reports.

The Transport Management Department announced the decrease in public transport fares after Nepal Oil Corporation issued a price list reducing the prices of petroleum products.

According to the department, the fares for passenger vehicles have dropped by 2.13 percent while freight vehicles have dropped by 2.78 percent in the Hilly region and 3.09 percent in the Terai region.

The Oil Corporation announced the decrease in the prices of diesel by Rs 4 and petrol by Rs 6 on Sunday.
