Mourners fill Jenin streets for funerals as Israel ends assault (with pictures)

July 5: Crowds have gathered outside the hospital at the camp entrance for funeral marches. The bodies of the 12 Palestinians who were killed are being carried to the mosque for prayers and burial. Mainly men and boys are waving Palestinian flags in the crowd.

Funerals are underway after two days of clashes between Palestinian fighters and Israeli troops in the Jenin refugee camp. People also filled the streets of Jenin this morning to pray for the Palestinians who were killed during Israel's military operation in the camp.

Twelve Palestinians and one Israeli soldier were killed since Monday in the assault.
