Nepal loses to two-time World Cup winner West Indies

KATHMANDU, June 22: In its third match of the ICC One Day International World Cup Qualifiers Cricket Tournament, Nepal lost to the two-time World Cup winner West Indies by 101 runs. The match was held at the Harare Cricket Ground in Zimbabwe on Thursday.

Nepal could not meet the gigantic target of 340 runs given by West Indies and was all-out in 49.4 overs with only 238 runs. For Nepal, Aarif Sheikh made 63 runs, Gulsan Jha 42, Karan KC 28, Aasif Sheikh also 28, Rohit Paudel 30, and Dipendra Singh Airee made 23 runs. Other players could not make runs in double digits.

West Indies, on its inning, had made 339 runs at the loss of 9 wickets.

Now, Nepal will play its final match of the group stage against the Netherlands on June 24.
