President Paudel undergoes heart surgery

KATHMANDU, June 20: President Ramchandra Paudel has undergone heart surgery at Manmohan Cardiothoracic Vascular and Transplant Centre on Tuesday.

President Paudel was admitted to the hospital at 1:45 am at night on Saturday after he showed symptoms of heart problems. According to the hospital, Paudel underwent surgery from 12 pm in the afternoon to 2 pm today.

According to President's communication expert Kiran Pokharel, President Paudel has been fitted with a pacemaker after the heart surgery. The surgeons performed the operation and fitted the pacemaker after Paudel's heart rate did not see any improvement according to Pokharel.

The hospital has issued a press release detailing Paudel's health condition after the operation.
