Nepal loses to Zimbabwe in World Cup Qualifiers
KATHMANDU, June 18: Nepal team has lost to Zimbabwe in their first match of the ICC One Day World Cup Qualifiers by eight wickets. After making 291 runs, Zimbabwe achieved victory by only losing two wickets in 44.1 overs.
Opener Arvin scored an unbeaten 121 runs in the match. Captain Arvin faced 128 balls and hit one six and 15 fours. Earlier, Arvin and Joylord Gumbie shared 45 runs for the opening wicket.
Gumbie scored 25 runs for the team. He returned to the pavilion scoring 25 runs off 29 balls with 5 fours. He was out after an LBW by Sompal Kami. Number three Batsman Wesley Madhevere also scored 32 runs for Zimbabwe. He faced 38 balls and hit 2 fours. He was dismissed after a catch-out by Nepalese bowler Gulsan Jha through Dipendra Singh Airee.
Sean Williams, who came to hold the crease at number four, contributed 102 unbeaten runs for the team. He faced 70 balls and hit a six and 13 fours.
