Church Boys become 'A' Division League Champions in first season

KATHMANDU, June 6: Church Boys United Club has won the Martyr's Memorial 'A' Division League  Football Competition. Church Boys has won the League in its first season of the 'A' Division.

Stopping Three Star Club with a goalless draw on Tuesday in the match held at the Dashrath Stadium in Trupureshwar, Church Boys became the League Champions. Before the match on Tuesday, Church Boys were in need of only 1 point to be the champions, which they pulled off with one match still remaining in the League.

Church Boys have equaled the record held by Manang Marsyangdi Club by winning the 'A' Division League in the same season they were promoted from the 'B' League. Earlier, Manang made a record by winning the 'A' division league title in the same season as they were promoted from the 'B' division in the year 2043 B.S.

Church Boys are at the top of the table with 45 points from 25 matches. Church Boys are 6 points ahead of second-placed Macchindra. Macchindra has scored 39 points from 24 matches, while Three Star is in the 12th position in the table with 29 points from 25 games.
