Lalitpur High and Army win Madan Bhandari Cup Basketball

KATHMANDU, June 2: Lalitpur High and Army won their respective matches in the Madan Bhandari Cup Basketball tournament on Friday. In the women’s match, Lalitpur High defeated Dharan Basketball Association by 33 points at the Covered Hall in Kirtipur. The final score was 72 – 39.

Lalitpur High’s Kavya Singla scored 14 points in the win and was declared the “Most Valuable Player” of the match. In the men’s match, Army defeated Downtown Sports Center in a tight game. The final score was 95-83. Army’s Ramkrishna Ghatane was declared the Most Valuable Player.

In another women’s match, Royal defeated Kirtipur Basketball Team in a blowout by 81-30 points. Mina Gurung of the winning team was declared the MVP. Budhanilkantha Basketball Club defeated Madan Bhandari Sports Academy in another blowout win by 68-20 points, in the next match. Binamani Yonjan was declared the MVP in the win.

Winners of both male and female categories were announced to receive Rs 150,000 by the organizer. The runner-ups of both categories will receive Rs 50, 000 as the prize.
