National Cricket Team departs for South Africa without Sandeep

KATHMANDU, May 31: Nepali National Cricket Team departed for South Africa on Tuesday. The National Team has left for South Africa to make final preparations for the ICC World Cup Qualifier.

The National Team for ICC World Cup Qualifier, led by Captain Rohit Poudel, was announced by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). The NT’s spinner Sandeep Lamicchane was not included in the team.

Sandeep wasn’t included in the team because the verdict of the rape case against him had not been finalized. Despite being unable to go to South Africa, Sandeep has wished luck to the rest of the national team through social media.

Sandeep wrote through Facebook that he fully believed in the abilities of the National Cricket Team and that they have shown their potential to the whole world.

Nepal is among the ten teams participating in the World Cup Qualifiers held in Zimbabwe. Nepal is placed in Group ‘A’ of the tournament.
