Nepal Secures 52-run victory over PNG in ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League-2

KATHMANDU, March 9: Nepal emerged victorious against Papua New Guinea (PNG) with a 52-run lead in a match of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup League-2 tri-series. 

After losing the toss, Nepal batted first and set a record-breaking target of 298 runs to PNG, losing all their wickets in a single ball in the scheduled 49 overs.

Aasif Sheikh made history as the second Nepali cricketer to score over 1000 runs in One Day International (ODI) cricket, achieving the milestone with a century in the recent match against PNG. As the highest scorer in the match, Asif Sheikh scored 110 runs. Kushal Bhurtel contributed 45, Bhim Sarki 44, and Rohit Poudel contributed 30 runs for Nepal.

In response, PNG scored 245 runs within the allocated overs. The win marks a significant achievement for Nepal in the ongoing tournament.
