Roberto Firmino to leave Liverpool

Anfield, March 4: The Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino is going to leave Liverpool at the end of the season as his contract with the club will end.

The 31-year-old joined Liverpool from Hoffenheim in 2015 for £2.9 million.

During his stay at Anfield, he played an important role in helping the club win the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and Club World Cup. He played 353 games and scored 107 goals and provided 70 assists for the club.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp said he wanted Firmino to stay with the club and, while the player had been in discussions over a new contract, he has chosen to leave the club.

In addition to muscle injuries, Firmino has comparatively less playing time at the club after the arrival of Diogo Jota, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo.
