8 people arrested for stealing money from bank account

LALITPUR, Feb. 3: The police have arrested 8 people involved in the act of stealing money by gaining unauthorized access to people's bank accounts through an app called 'Nepali Girl'. The team of District Police Range Lalitpur arrested 8 people.
The amount was stolen from the NIC Asia Bank account of the name Hari Prasad Dhakal, a resident of Satdobato, Lalitpur, on November 25. A complaint was filed to the police that the mobile banking channel operated from the bank account was hacked and money was withdrawn from 7 pm on the 25th to 1 am on the 26th.
After receiving a complaint that the amount was transferred to the Esewa and Khalti wallets of different people, the police started an investigation.
SSP Siddhi Bikram Shah of District Police Range Lalitpur informed that during the investigation, it was found that the accused were systematically embezzling money from accounts by using electronic means.
He said that after arresting them from Makwanpur and Kathmandu districts, the High Court in Patan extended the deadline for further investigation in the banking crime case.
Among those arrested are Indian citizen Awadhesh Kumar, Dilip Kumar Chaudhary of Saptari, Nagendra Sah Kanu of Parsa, Ravina Chaudhary of Rautahat, Santosh Kunwar of Bara, Sahil Parbez, Raju Patel and Shiva Shankar Raut of Parsa.
Mobile phones, laptops, and ATM cards of various companies have been recovered from them.
It has been revealed from the investigation that they are doing fraud by making attractive advertisements through the social media of 'Nepali Girl' app and after clicking on it, they steal the data and hack the system.
