Lumbini wins the first edition of Nepal T-20 League

KATHMANDU, Jan. 11: Lumbini All Stars has become the winner of the first edition of the Nepal T-20 League. By defeating Biratnagar Super Kings by 24 runs in the finals on Wednesday, Lumbini has emerged victorious in the first edition of the Nepal T-20 League.
The league was hosted by the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN). Lumbini won a prize of Rs 55 lakh by winning the title. Biratnagar, as the runner-up, received a prize of 30 lakhs. Similarly, Janakpur Royals, who came third, got Rs 10 lakh and Kathmandu Knights, who came fourth, got Rs 5 lakh. Chasing the target of 134 runs presented by Lumbini All Stars at the TU Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, Biratnagar managed to score only 109 runs after losing eight wickets in the scheduled 20 overs.
Biratnagar's Arjun Saud scored 34 runs, Prithu Baskota 31 runs and Hussain Talat scored 13 runs. However, other batsmen could not score runs in double figures. Lumbini's Sagar Dhakal and Harmeet Singh took two wickets, while Kishore Mahato and Bipul Sharma took one wicket each. Earlier, after winning the toss and coming into bat, Lumbini lost all the wickets in 19.2 overs and made a total of 133 runs.
Lumbini's opener Lahiru Milantha scored 41 runs. Another opener Harmeet Singh scored 30 runs. Lumbini's captain Dipendrasingh Airy scored 20 runs and Isaan Pandey scored 18 runs. Biratnagar's Raj Nanan and Nandan Yadav took two wickets, while Hussain Talat, Kion Joseph, Surya Tamang and Captain Rohit Kumar Paudel took one wicket each.
