Parties agree upon election of  Speaker and Deputy Speaker within January 23

KATHMANDU, Jan. 6: The political parties represented in the Parliament have agreed to hold the election of the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker by January 23.
According to Congress leader Ramesh Lekhak, such an agreement was reached in the all-party meeting of the political parties represented in the Parliament held in New Baneshwar on Friday.
"There is a provision that the Speaker and Deputy Speaker should be selected within 15 days of the first meeting of the Parliament. According to the provision, an agreement has been reached to elect the Speaker and the Deputy Speaker within the coming January 23", said Lekhak. "An agreement has been reached to elect the Speaker on January 21 and the Deputy Speaker on January 23", he added.
