Tottenham defeated, Chelsea stopped
KATHMANDU, Jan. 2: Tottenham Hotspurs lost to Aston Villa at their home ground. Spurs lost 0-2 in the Premier League match held Sunday night.
Emiliano Buendia took advantage of a mistake by goalkeeper Hugo Lloris to give Villa the lead, and Douglas Costa added another goal to give the team the win. With this, Villa has managed to win two away games in a row under the leadership of Unai Emery. After the win, Villa is in 12th place in the league with 21 points from 17 games. Spurs are fifth in the league with 30 points from the same number of games.
In another match held Sunday, Chelsea and Nottingham Forest finished in a draw. Raheem Sterling gave Chelsea the lead in the 16th minute of the game, but Sergi Aurier equalized in the second half.
Chelsea is in the eighth position with 25 points from 16 games, while Forest is in the league's relegation zone with 14 points from 17 games.
