Alarming: Nepal records 1,090 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, two deaths

KATHMANDU, Aug 9: In an alarming case, Nepal recorded as many as 1,090 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday.

According to the latest data from the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP), a total of 6,300 people had undergone COVID-19 tests in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,090 were diagnosed with the disease.

There are currently 5,806 active cases of COVID-19 across the country.

Likewise, two people succumbed to COVID-19 on Tuesday.

The Kathmandu Valley on Tuesday recorded 387 new cases. Of them, 304 were detected in Kathmandu, 21 in Bhaktapur and 62 in Lalitpur districts.
