KMC Mayor Race: Balen ahead of his nearest contender Sthapit by 7,707 votes

KATHMANDU, May 18:  Balen Shah, an independent candidate for the post of the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently leading the vote count with a huge margin as of 10 AM, Wednesday.

Balne has so far garnered 16,052 votes which is 7,707 votes more than his nearest contender Keshav Sthapit of CPN-UML. Sthapit has collected 8,345 votes. 

Likewise, Srijana Singh, Nepali Congress’s candidate for the post has collected 7,511 votes.

So far votes for wards 1, 2, 3 and 5 have already been counted, according to the poll body. Likewise, votes for wards 4, 6, 7, 29, 30, 31 and 32 are currently underway.
