IN PICS: Indian PM Modi visits Lumbini

KATHMANDU, May 16: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Lumbini, Nepal  and visited the birth place of Lord Gautam Buddha on the occasion of Buddha Jayanti on Monday. 

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba welcomed his Indian counterpart at Lumbini this morning.

PM Modi-led Indian delegation comprises foreign secretary, joint-secretaries of ministry of external affairs and Kathmandu-based Charge d' affaires of Indian Embassy Namgya Khampa.

A bilateral meeting between PM Deuba and his Indian counterpart Modi to be held on Monday afternoon would focus on the construction of hydropower projects, development of physical infrastructure of Nepal and expansion of connectivity.
