UML forms Standing Committee, politburo

KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML has constituted a 99-member politburo. 

A central committee meeting held on Sunday formed the politburo including 19 office bearers and 80 other leaders. 

Ghanashyam Bhusal, who contested for vice-chairman in the 10th general convention of the party held in Chitwan, Bhim Acharya, Lal Babu Pandit among others have been named the politburo members. 

Meanwhile, the same meeting also formed a 45-member standing committee. The committee, proposed by Chairman KP Sharma Oli, includes 19 office bearers. 

Ghanashyam Bhusal, Guru Baral, Devraj Ghimire, Bhim Acharya, Lal Babu Pandit, Khagraj Adhikari, Kiran Gurung, Kashi Nath and Raghuji Panta have been nominated as SC members. 

Similarly, Bhanubhakta Dhaka, Manichandra Thapa, Sherdhan Rai, Krishna Gopal Shrestha, Agni Kharel, Prabhu Sah and Rajan Bhattarai have also been picked as SC members by Chair Oli. 

Others who have been included in the SC committee include Sita Poudel, Brinda Pandey, Gorakh Bogati, Karna Bahadur Thapa, Rajendra Gautam, Thammamya Thapa, Sher Bahadur Tamang, Shivamaya Tumbahanfe and Hikmat Karki.
