Motorcyclist dies in road mishap

SINDHUPALCHOWK: A motorcyclist died on the spot in a road accident occurred at the Balefi-Sukute section along the Araniko highway this morning.

The deceased has been identified as Ek Bahadur Shrestha of Barhabise, said police. The accident took place when a truck (Ba 5 Kha 4282) heading towards Barhabise from Kathmandu hit a motorcycle (Ba 31 Pa 584) heading towards Kathmandu.

Similarly, pillion rider Ashish Shrestha was injured in the accident and he has been sent to Dhulikhel for treatment.

Police have arrested the driver and impounded the vehicle. Information officer at the District Police Office, Dakshya Kumar Basnet shared that further investigation into the case was underway.
