American delegations to arrive Nepal on Wednesday
KATHMANDU, November 17: Donald Lu, Assistant Secretary of State for the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs, is scheduled to arrive in Nepal on Wednesday.
According to the American Embassy, Secretary Lu is scheduled to arrive in Kathmandu on Wednesday for his two day visit. “He will call on leaders and government officials during his visit.”
Secretary Lu is also scheduled to call on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba during his stay in Nepal.
Likewise, Kelly Keiderling, Deputy Assistant Secretary for South and Central Asian Affairs, will be arriving in Nepal on Thursday.
According to the American Embassy, Deputy Secretary Keiderling is scheduled to hold discussions with government officials and some other civil society leaders.
“Their visit comes just ahead of the 75th year of diplomatic relations between the United States and Nepal. As part of U.S. President Biden’s top priorities, they will address challenges like COVID-19, climate change, and strengthening democracies,” the Embassy further stated.
At the time when the Millennium Corporate Challenge (MCC) of the United States of America awaits ratification from parliament, visits of these high-level American delegations are witnessed as a concern of public interest.
