KATHMANDU, November 15: The agitating Nepal Bar Association has refused to sit with Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JB Rana to discuss the growing judicial controversies.

Earlier on Monday morning, CJ Rana issued a press statement urging the Nepal Bar Association (NBA) to sit for a discussion but the NBA refused his call and sought his resignation as soon as possible.

The NBA has been staging sit-in protests and has announced nationwide protests piling pressure on CJ Rana to step down, accusing him of demanding a share in the Cabinet and refusing to implement the report of Justice Hari Krishna Karki.

To CJ Rana’s call, the NBA responded that there was no justification for discussion. “Discussion won’t solve the problems at the apex court, you should step down from your post without any delay,” said Chairman of the association, Chandeshwor Shrestha addressing the sit-in protest.
