Congress picks ‘coordinators' to hold provincial conventions

KATHMANDU: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) has finalized the names of coordinators to hold the provincial conventions as a part of the party’s 14th General Convention. 

A meeting of the party’s central committee held at the Budhanilkantha-based President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s private residence on Sunday picked seven provincial coordinators.

With the latest decision, Krishna Sitaula (Province 1), Ramesh Rijal (Province 2), Prakash Man Singh (Bagmati) and Gopal Man Shrestha (Gandaki) are designated to hold conventions in the respective provinces. Similarly, Balkrishna Khand (Lumbini), Jeevan Bahadur Shahi (Karnali) and Dilendra Badu (Sudur Paschim) are to hold the provincial conventions. 

The party is holding its provincial conventions on December 2 and 3. 

According to party spokesperson Bishwo Prakash Sharma, the meeting also designated the places where to host the provincial conventions.
