NC holding ward conventions in 13 districts today
KATHMANDU, November 13: The ruling Nepali Congress (NC) is holding its ward-level conventions in 13 districts on Saturday.
The conventions in these districts were delayed due to active membership disputes.
The ward conventions of the Nepali Congress, which started in September as part of the party's 14th General Convention, were concluded in other districts.
According to the NC Central Election Committee, ward conventions are starting today in eight districts of Province No. 2 and Kailali, Banke, Surkhet, Dolpa and Rasuwa. However, due to the resignation of the party's election officer, there is still confusion over holding the ward convention in Sarlahi. Mahadev Prasad Yadav, coordinator of the committee, said that the convention would start after sending another election official.
As per the revised schedule published by the committee on October 28, the remaining municipal conventions will be held on November 19, the Provincial Assembly Regional Convention on November 22 and the district convention on November 26.
Similarly, the province convention is scheduled to be held on December 1 and 2. The central convention is scheduled to be held in Kathmandu from December 10 to 12.
