PHOTOS: Chhath festival comes to end offering prayers to sun

KATHMANDU, November 11: Chhath festival concluded on Thursday morning after offering prayers to the rising sun.

Thousands of devotees thronged to nearby rivers and ponds and offered prayers ‘Arga’ to the rising sun.

Chhath devotees worship the Sun God, his wife Usha or Chhathi Maiya, nature, water and wind. 

This year, the Chhath festival began on November 8 with the 'Nahai Khai' ritual and concluded on November 11 with devotees performing 'Usha Arghya' (prayers to the rising sun).
