Amid controversies, CJ Rana begins hearing in Constitutional Bench
KATHMANDU, October 27: Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher JBR has begun a hearing in the Constitutional Bench amid growing controversies in the apex court.
This comes at time when other justices are boycotting the hearings.
CJ Rana will be hearing five cases on Wednesday. Rana is scheduled to hear petition against 'contempt of court’ by Purna Bahadur Garti, speaker of Lumbini Province among others.
Even though the Nepal Bar Association on Tuesday sought his resignation, CJ Rana has refused to step down.
Meanwhile, justices and advocates have decided to boycott hearings and other proceedings as well.
