PM Deuba leaves capital to visit flood and landslide hit areas

KATHMANDU, October 21: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba left for floods and landslide hit areas from the capital city on Thursday morning.

A team-led by PM Deuba left Kathmandu at 8 AM on Thursday. PM Deuba has been accompanied by Finance Minister Janardan Sharma, Tourism Minister Prem Ale, former minister trio NP Saud, Ramesh Lekhak and Bir Bahadur Balayar.

According to the PM's secretariat, the team will fly directly from Baluwatar, Kathmandu to Surkhet. From Surkhet , PM will fly to Doti, then to Bhajang and Dadeldura.

The team is also scheduled to visit Kanchanpur, Kailali and spend a night at Dhangadi.

On Friday, the team will visit Bardiya and Banke district and return to Kathmandu on the same day.

The government on Wednesday announced to provide Rs 200,000 to family members of those people who were killed in recent floods and landslides and Rs 500,000 to those whose house has been destroyed in the same incident.
