PM Deuba summons Cabinet meeting
KATHMANDU, October 20: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has summoned an immediate Cabinet meeting on Wednesday.
According to Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for the government, the meeting is likely to take some important decisions regarding relief aid to families displaced by floods and landslides and provide compensation to family members of deceased families.
So far, 48 people have died and 31 others are still missing due to the incessant rainfall from Sunday.
According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, one each has died due to landslides and floods in Kalikot, Dadeldura, Pyuthan and Udayapur, two in Sunsari, four in Baitadi, six each in Humla, Dhankuta amd Panchthar, nine in Doti and eleven in Illam districts.
Likewise, one person in Doti, two in Pyuthan, five in Illam and 23 in Bhajang districts have gone missing.
