Police open fire at Butwal Industrial Estate, two injured

KATHMANDU, October 10: Armed Police Force (APF) open fire at Butwal-based Motipur Industrial Estate on Sunday.

Local people and APF personnel clashed after the police tried to evict the ‘illegal’ occupants at the Butwal Industrial Estate.

Two individuals have sustained injuries after being hit by bullets. It has been learnt that one of the injured was hit by a bullet in the head and other in the chest.

According to DIG Mukundaraj Acharya of Lumbini Province, two rounds of bullets were fired during the incident.

Currently, more than 2,000 people have staged a protest in the area.
