Public transport operators hold 518 vehicles in Ring Road demanding implementation of increased fare
KATHMANDU, October 4: The public transport operators have put on hold as many as 518 public vehicles demanding to implement the increased fare rate earlier set by them.
In recent days, the Traffic Police Division has been monitoring the vehicles and taking action against those collecting excessive fares from passengers.
The division had fined 54 buses for collecting excessive fares from passengers on Sunday only, according to SP Sanjeeb Sharma.
After the transport operators hold the vehicles at Chabahil including various intersections in the Ring Road, heavy security personnel have been mobilized to avoid clashes between passengers and transport operators.
The transport operators had hiked the fare from Rs 15 to 20, Rs 20 to 25 and Rs 25 to 30.
