Govt to provide Rs 1 million to family members of victim of Darchula incident

KATHMANDU, August 27:  The government has decided to provide Rs 1 million to family members of Jay Singh Dami who has gone missing in Mahakali River after the Indian Indian Seema Surakshya Bal (SSB) personnel cut off an improvised cable crossing ‘Tuin’ (improvised cable crossing) stretching over the river.

A cabinet meeting held earlier on Thursday took a decision to provide Rs 1 million to family members of Dami, according to Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, spokesperson for the government.

Even though the government had mobilized a probe committee to investigate the case, the committee has not submitted any reports yet,

The home ministry had formed a five member probe committee under the leadership of the ministry’s Joint Secretary Janardan Gautam .
