Global bidding called for Madan Bhandari University’s DPR
KATHMANDU, July 19: The Detailed Project Report (DPR) process of Madan Bhandari Science and Technology University will be developed through international bidding system.
The University infrastructure construction committee has shared that the process for the same has already begun. Rs 2 billion has been allocated in the previous fiscal year for the purpose. Similarly, Rs 1.55 billion has been allocated in the current fiscal year.
It is stated that the cost of the DPR should be proposed by the aspirant company to the committee.
According to federal lawmaker Gokul Banskota, the global bid is called as the university would be of international standard. The university would be spread over an area of 10,000 ropanis.
The estimated cost of the university is Rs 43 billion. The district revenue office has stated that the land acquisition process for the university is completed. The university will be extended in Panchkhal and Namobuddha areas.
According to the Office, 10,300 ropani of land at Namobuddha-2 and 3 and Panchkhal-7, 10 and 12 have been transferred to the Infrastructure Development Committee of the University.
Plans are afoot to construct buildings of a teaching hospital and medical college, roads, hostel building for teachers and students, a helipad and a sports ground in the lands, it has been said.
Formed through the then Cabinet meeting on February 4, 2019, the infrastructure preparation committee has taken the administration responsibility for the development of the University.
The government published its decision in this regard in National Gazette on 24 June, 2019 as per the direction by the university infrastructure construction committee.
Acting on this, the government on 9 December 2019 had decided to transfer the lands to the development committee.
Similarly, the government had directed the district land revenue office to forward the process to manage lands for the university.
