Sharma claims good relationship with Biplav, resolves alleged differences
Kathmandu, December 26 — CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma has stated that he has not been an obstacle in bringing CPN General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand 'Biplav' into the Maoist Centre.
Speaking at an interaction on 'Mao Day and Current Nepali Politics' organized by the Public Policy and Strategic Study Centre in Nepal Academy on Thursday, Sharma clarified that various misconceptions had been spread to create a rift between him and Biplav.
He also pointed out that the party's adoption of a dual strategy of rebellion and elections around 2009 was a weakness.
"In 2009, the party's approach of combining rebellion and elections was a weakness. Those who favored rebellion focused on rebellion, and those who favored elections focused on elections. Biplav favored the rebellion and took his own path," Sharma said.
"Efforts were made to create misunderstandings between Biplav and me, which is not correct. I personally initiated the Maoist reorganization campaign. Biplav and I share a good relationship. The idea of being obstacles to Maoist unity has been discussed, but all of these matters have been resolved through discussions in Kapilvastu and Harisiddhi, Lalitpur," Sharma stated.
