Oli also stakes claim for new govt, says he has 153 lawmakers in his side

KATHMANDU, May 21: In a series of dramatic turns of events, Prime Minister and Parliamentary Party Leader of ruling CPN-UML has also laid a claim for new government formation as per Article 76 (5) of the constitution. 

According to Bishnu Rimal, PM Oli’s chief political advisor, Oli has a support of 153 lawmakers --- 121 from the UML and 32 from the Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP). Oli and JSP Chairman have signed in the letter submitted to President Bidya Devi Bhandari. 

Meanwhile, Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba also staked a claim for new government formation with the support of 149 MPs.
